Salary: National Living Wage
Location: Orlando Village Student Accomodation and Various places across Bolton Town centre
Duration: September to May (unless otherwise notified).
Additional opportunities available if staying over the summer.
Hours: Work is relatively flexible and there are various hours and activities for you to get involved in.
WHAT IS AN ORLANDO VILLAGE REP?
The person who takes on the role of Orlando Village Rep enjoys meeting new people and is confident to encourage others to get involved. Answering questions and offering help is a key part of the role. They are always eager to help, especially when new students are moving in and they could potentially feel intimidated by their new environment. Orlando reps also get the opportunity to get involved in exciting projects and assisting staff to host events and tours for our students.
YOUR MAIN ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome students and parents on check-in weekend, helping new arrivals feel at home
- Show students around their new home and help them to settle in
- Provide tours of the local area showing students the best places to shop, eat and have fun
- Support with hosting and organising social events
- Encourage students to get involved in events and activities
- Represent Orlando Village Students and help answer questions at Accommodation Fairs and Open Days
- Promote tours, activities and events
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
- Be a positive representative of Orlando Village
- Be friendly, approachable and happy to answer questions
- Show an eagerness to get involved and share your experiences
- Complete all relevant training prior to welcome weekend
STUDENT AMBASSADOR JOB DESCRIPTION WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Respectful of others and different cultures
- Willingness to share ideas
- Confident talking in front of large groups and one-to-one situations
- Team working and organisational skills
KEY DATES You will need to be available to attend training (we will be in touch to confirm the date) and be available for key open days (summer work available if staying over the summer).
Your work hours will vary depending on your availability around your course.
