Firework Displays In Bolton 2021

News

Bonfire Night is one of the most dazzling nights of the year, where the skies above Greater Manchester are lit up with thousands of colourful fireworks.

Whilst most firework displays and organised bonfires were cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19, we’re delighted that Bonfire Night celebrations have been announced across the ten boroughs – including Bolton.

If you’re staying at our student accommodation in Bolton, here at Orlando Village, and planning to celebrate this year, you’ll find everything from huge bonfires in local parks to funfairs and live music events.

Here are just some of our top picks for Bonfire Night 2021 in and around Bolton…

Events on Friday 5th November:

·         Westhoughton Cricket Club

Want to enjoy some spectacular fireworks, with some tasty grub and a drink in hand? Well, head on down to Westhoughton Cricket Club on Cappadocia Way – less than an hour from our student accommodation in Bolton via car and public transport!

With plenty of rides for the kids, this firework display near Bolton is great for the entire family. Why not invite your parents and younger siblings to come along with you? It’ll give them a chance to meet your housemates and/or coursemates.

The gates open from 6pm and the fireworks are due to commence at 8pm (weather dependent). When paid in advance, tickets start from £6 for adults and £4 for children. On the day, you can expect to pay £1 more.

Events on Saturday 6th November:

·         Christ’s Church Family Bonfire

Everyone is welcome at the annual family bonfire, hosted by Christ’s Church Harwood. Unlike other bonfires in the Bolton area, this is a ‘bring and share event’ and starts at 6pm.

The organisers request that each group provides one large firework and something for the buffet – be it a meat and potato pie, crisps, baked potato, parkin, or something else. You’ll also need to supply your own drinks and any necessary crockery and cutlery.

Located just off Stitch-Mi-Lane, Christ’s Church is no more than a 4-mile drive from our student accommodation in Bolton town centre. If you haven’t brought your car to uni, don’t panic – you can hop on the bus and walk to the destination.

·         Harwood Golf Club

Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly bonfire or somewhere you and your housemates can go to admire the fireworks whilst tucking into some delicious food, you’re sure to enjoy Bonfire Night at Harwood Golf Club.

Though heading out of town, it’ll take you less than half an hour to get to the golf club from our student halls in a cab. You can also travel via bus or train if you prefer.

There’s no need to pre-book your tickets for the annual firework display and bonfire either. Just turn up and pay at the car park entrance on the day. Tickets cost £2 per adult and £1 per child, or £5 for a family of 4.

Events on Sunday 7th November:

·         Bolton School Fireworks – ‘Disco’ through the Decades

The Bolton School Girls’ Division Parents’ Association fireworks event is great fun for all ages – especially university students who enjoy music and are looking to sample some brilliant food.

The fireworks will be presented by Titanium, the company responsible for the spectacle in London on New Years’ Eve, Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, and the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

As well as impressive fireworks, there’ll be ample opportunity to bop along to music from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, and present day. And plenty of stalls serving burgers, pizza, and spicy food – not to mention games, hampers, raffles, and more.

Tickets for this bonfire event start from £10, and VIP parking is £10. If money is tight, it’s worth walking to the disco through the decades. After all, it’s less than 2 miles from our Bolton student accommodation. Depending on how quickly you walk, you’ll be there within 40 minutes.

Don’t fancy venturing out this Bonfire Night?

Not to worry – you can bet you’ll see loads of beautiful fireworks by simply looking out of the window at your student accommodation in Bolton.

The best bit? You needn’t dig out your winter woollies and brave the cold. You can laze around in your comfy slippers with snacks at the ready.

For more information about the Bonfire Night events due to take place this November, or to find out more about our student accommodation, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
